Thumbelina was born in a small space between a house and a garage. The area was also home to three large dogs. Mother cat decided to move her babies but Thumbelina was left behind. We’ll never know why - possibly her mother was too afraid to return.
This little 6 day old kitten
came to us, eyes still closed.
A life too precious to leave alone.
She was fed twice hourly, night and day, first with a syringe but graduating to a bottle because the syringe never held enough. She lost her cord the day after she arrived. In her very short life there have been many ups and downs. The down side is that the vet said she needs to reduce her intake as she has a loose bowel. How do you tell a 9 day old kitten she’s on a diet?
She went to the vet in her basket for her check-up, her bottle tucked accordingly at the bottom. Thumbelina doesn't know the word DIET. We could not ascertain the sound coming from the basket. We lifted the lid and low and behold we had a cat-burglar! She was helping herself.

SHAKE THE TIN
Over the past month we have had the opportunity
to get out into the public
arena and "Shake the Tin". Unfortunately, due to volunteers not being able to help with the cleaning of the cattery, we have not been able to raise funds in this way. Please pass the
word that even if a volunteer can commit one morning a month it is a
big help.
Contact Yvonne on 09 276 9960 and make your date with her.
