We are an organisation that rescues cats and kittens that are unwanted, abandoned, or abused.
The animals are cared for at our premises in Mangere East, Auckland, where we bring them back to good health to go on to being adopted. All cats that leave the cattery are spayed or neutered, wormed, vaccinated and microchipped.

STRIPEY HAS GONE MISSING

Stripey (pictured) is a trust cat who very recently got adopted. However, he got out of the house and has not returned and we are desperate to find him.
He went missing from the Tennessee Avenue, Mangere area around the end of October 2011. Stripey is microchipped (9410001340105) so if you see him please take him to a vet where he can be scanned and contact us asap on 09 276 9960 or 027 426 4374. He will probably be a bit scared as he is not familiar with outdoor open spaces so please if you have any sightings, contact us as soon as possible.

Operation Lucky

operation luckyWe have a special story to tell about Lucky. Lucky was picked up on Baird’s Road in Otara in late May, as dusk fell and was lucky as a car had just straddled him. He was run over but was unharmed but once he was brought to us we discovered he was also blind and has had to have surgery.
We have set up a special fund to for Lucky to be known as “Operation Lucky” and donations can be made to help this special boy with his surgery and recovery. Click here to read more about his story and how to make donations.

Vets Corner Story

Kitten season comes and goes each year and too many little ones are born unwanted. We are hoping that this year people have been responsible and realise the necessity of spaying or neutering their pets. At Cats In Need Trust we 100% believe that spaying and neutering is the only way! Read why here.

Special thanks to our Mummy extraordinaire: Shakra
ShakraWe had a wonderful cat at the trust who was brought to us very timid, emaciated and who had just lost her litter. However, we have had several very small kittens abandoned or surrendered to us that Shakra has taken on as her own. She has helped mother these four little ones and all of them are now thriving.

Sadly, Shakra has passed on of complications due to her skin cancer. However, no matter what, she has left a wonderful legacy and has saved many little lives. For this we thank her. RIP Shakra.
